Having already starred in his fair share of dramas, Sean “Diddy” Combs will now try expanding his acting resume by signing on for a new comedy.
Speaking with late night talk show host Craig Ferguson, the producer turned music executive turned rapper turned actor gave a few details of his next venture. “I just signed on to do a comedy as a matter of fact,” he said. “I can’t announce who it’s with, but it’s with some definitely comedy heavy hitters.”
Diddy is as serious about his acting as he is his music, it seems. “Right now that’s what I’m pursuing; I’m strongly pursuing my acting career,” he told Ferguson.
Diddy last ventured into comedy as an executive producer for the HBO series “The Bad Boys Of Comedy.” He has also had appearances in “Monster’s Ball,” “Made” and “Carlito’s Way: Rise To Power,” and has received critical acclaim for his role as Walter Younger in the television adaptation of “A Raisin In The Sun,” for which he was nominated for an NAACP Image Award. Combs is currently making a cameo appearance on “CSI: Miami” as a defense lawyer.
