In the New Year, Jay-Z still finds himself a lightning rod for potential controversy. After the historic inauguration of Barack Obama, Jay-Z and Young Jeezy were labeled “racist” and “divisive” by several Fox News pundits for performing “My President is Black” in D.C. Now, several personalities of “The Tom Joyner Morning Show” have taken aim at Hova over his marriage to Beyonce Knowles.

On a recent show, comedian Earthquake seized on the fact that many people are now rethinking the choices they make in life. After catching Beyonce crying on camera at the inauguration, the former BET Comic View standout said the singer was in tears because “she was crying about the fact that she is stuck with a thug.”

The one liner didn’t end there.

“She knows that she doesn’t have someone like Barack and she was……just looking around thinking about the choices that she’s made,” he continued “She should take a cue from [Jennifer Lopez] and leave the thugs alone. J Lo knew what to do.”

After the collective returned from a brief music break, Joyner chimed in on the discussion, saying “Earthquake had a point and Beyonce was probably crying a bit because it’s no longer ‘in’ to have a thug on your arm.” Joyner continued, adding that “it’s cool to have someone with an education. Degrees are ‘in’ again and Beyonce looked at her mate and started to cry because she knew that she was never going to be Michelle or by like Michelle.”

Joyner concluded the conversation after stating that Knowles “has got to be thinking twice about that ‘put a ring on it’ song…all of that goes out the window now and she wants to take all of that stuff back. I mean, she’s crying, looks to her side, starts crying even more and says to herself ‘I’m never going to be like Michelle, I’m never going to be in the White House as The First Lady and I’m never going to win an Oscar as long as I am with this thug.’”
