African American Man Who Has Tourette Syndrome

Me & My Tourette’s: Motivated By GOD

    Myles R. Walker

As you may or may not know, Tourette Syndrome (TS) is a genetic, neurobiological disorder, characterized by involuntary movements and sounds that are known as "tics."

Tics are quite common in childhood, but in moderate or severe cases tics can cause functional impairment, social impairment, and pain. In addition to tics themselves, the usual person with TS has other difficulties because of accompanying and associated disorders. The two most common are attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD).

Why is Tourette Syndrome Important To Me:

I am an African American Man who has Tourette Syndrome and has had it for approximately 19+ years. I currently live in Knoxville, Tennessee in the project (public housing), but I am originally from Connecticut.

I am trying to increase people's awareness in the African American Community, as well as other minority, and non-minorities who do not know about Tourette Syndrome.

I have written a book which is published by www. iuniverse. com and the title of the book is "Me & My Tourette's: Motivated By GOD" and you can get your copy today at:

    iuniverse. com/bookstore/book_detail. asp?isbn=0-595-39058-7

Me & My Tourette's: Motivated By GOD is also available at 25,000 online and offline bookstores including Barnes and Noble. (If "Me & My Tourette's: Motivated By GOD" is not available at your favorite bookstore, then you can ask the store manager or store clerk to order it and they will).

Even, if you do not have Tourette Syndrome, do not know of someone who has Tourette Syndrome, "Me & My Tourette's: Motivated By GOD" can give you encouragement in overcoming some of your obstacles.

I have done two internet radio show interviews, as well as have two videos on my myspace page at: www. myspace. com/ahdaddy and on youtube. Just type in my name Myles Walker and it will pull up my two videos "Hoodie Talk" and "Book Promo"

I am promoting my book myself! "Me & Tourette's: Motivated By GOD", was written not only for people who have Tourette Syndrome, but it was also written for those who need some motivation, inspiration, encouragement, in still faith, when and if no one else will, help, believe, and push you to succeed!

Me & My Tourette's Motivated By God will hopefully increase the public's awareness and shed new light which most people do not know about Tourette Syndrome.

If you have any questions, and/or would like to interview me for any speaking engagements, stories, photos, book signings, etc, please feel free to email me at: MylesW27@gmail.com or myleswmyles@yahoo.com

    Thank You!
